M*A*S*H Programs
What is a M*A*S*H Program?
M*A*S*H (Medical Avenues to Service in Health) programs are designed to educate High School students (grades 9-12) about the possibility of pursuing a career in the Health Service field after they complete their higher education. M*A*S*H programs are highly interactive, informative, and FUN!
The 2006 Health Career Camp hosted 12 students from around the Panhandle Area that were enthusiastic about pursuing a career in Health Services. They traveled to the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center’s Gross Anatomy Lab and Clinical Nursing Simulation Room, the city of Amarillo’s Emergency Operations Center, a local fire department to view the HazMat vehicle and Decontamination truck, and Pampa Regional Medical Center to do job shadowing in Surgery, Nursing, Physical Therapy, ER, Psychiatry, Nuclear Medicine and several other medical fields.

The camp fee for this program is $50.00 that includes all meals, lodging and travel expenses, and camp attire. There is a scholarship program available for this camp if you are unable to pay the camp fee. Please contact the Panhandle AHEC for more information about the scholarship application process.
